STAYING SAFE AS WE HOPE FOR CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT

Image
"When can I go to a Pics and Flicks screening?" Yes Charlie, we're impatient too but there's still a while to go until the Town Hall is fully available  and the virus is not a continuing risk to everyone's health. Pics and Flicks committee has reviewed our options, following the advice from Council that socially-distanced, limited number events can now be held at Gerringong Town Hall. It's been decided that we're not yet able to restart screenings for the next few months, depending on further advice from Council.  If you are on the Pics and Flicks email you will be advised of any changes. Otherwise please check back with us on facebook or this website.

POSTPONED

Image
In the interests of everybody's health, Pics and Flicks is postponing film screenings until the 'new normal' appears.  We're looking forward to seeing you then, however in the meantime, you might like to see some of those films we've screened in the past, and that are now available on SBS On Demand, or elsewhere.  Check our Facebook site or catch up with the Pics and Flicks emails that will be coming to those who've put their names on the email list.  We'll be offering a few suggestions of films that you might like to see, or revisit. In the meantime, take care of yourself and everyone around you.

THE CAMINO VOYAGE 3rd April 2020

The Camino Voyage Donal O’Ceilleachair’s film is an inspiring tale of hardship and immense work. The story is laced with the euphoria of people doing something unimaginable in today’s modern world. Four men set sail on an epic 2,500 km modern-day Celtic odyssey. Renowned Irish musician, Brendan Begley; distinguished artist, Liam Holden; skilled stonemason, Brendan Moriarty; and celebrated writer and poet, Danny Sheehy, undertake a journey that their ancestors would have done, from Ireland to Santiago de Compostela. Their ancestors sailed to Coruña in Northern Spain, and walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostela from there. These men did the same, sailing in their ‘Naomhóg’, a traditional West Kerry rowing Curragh/boat. Neither young nor hardened men of the sea, they were writers, musicians and artists. This pilgrimage was an ode to their kindred predecessors. En route, they had to traverse rocky coast line, cross seas and work up rivers all for the hope that they can complet...
