The Olive Tree This is a small, soulful film that has two stars: the feisty Spanish actress Anna Castillo and a vast, gnarled, thousand-year-old olive tree. The Olive Tree is a deeply human story about the broken and unbroken bonds between generations. It follows a young Spanish woman’s literal and spiritual quest to recover a symbolically significant olive tree from its new owners, a German energy company.
